Name : Adya Rangacharya (formerly R.V.Jagirdar)

Date of birth: 26 th September, 1904 at Agarkhed, Dist. Bijapur, now in Karnataka

Education :

  • Shrikrishna Pathashala and Government High School, Bijapur
  • B.A. (First Class), Deccan College, Pune, Bombay University (1925)
  • Was a Dakshina Fellow at Deccan College
  • M.A. (with distinction) London University, in Linguistics, School of Oriental Studies, London (1928)

  1. Lecturer in Sanskrit, Karnatak College, Dharwad 1930-1949
  2. Officer on Special Duty, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, New Delhi
  3. Organised the Song & Drama Division for the First Five Year Plan Publicity. Later Script Officer in the same division (1954-1956)
  4. Drama Producer, All India Radio, Bangalore (1956-1959)
  5. Emeritus Producer, All India Radio and Doordarshan, 1979-1981
